How I Made The President And The Governors To Be Ashamed, Lol!

Not only the current President and the governors but I also got all the past ones scratching their brows in absolute shame. Also with them are all those who have occupied key political positions anywhere in Nigeria since 1963.

This is a story of how I got all of them ashamed and how YOU should too. This is because until we get them to be truly ashamed any time they meet other world leaders, they will always pay lip service to issues about our welfare as the masses.

You see, we the People are extremely stupid any time we take sides with these so-called leaders on ethnic, regional, or religious grounds. Let's not be like accursed people who are inside water but are getting blinded by soap lather.

We have oppressors who use ethnicity, region and our various sacred religious sentiments to manipulate us against one another. And we are stupidly falling for their antics!?! Thus divided, they conquer us and keep us down from generation to generation.

If not, we've got the power over them. For example, the power of our number. Especially in this social media era.

Okay, more on this down the paragraphs. For now, here's the story I was coming to tell you…

How I Got All Our Present And Past Political Leaders Looking Down In Shame

Where I live, we hadn't seen the so-called NEPA light for more than 3 days.

So, with my gadgets down, I relaxed under a shade at the back of the fence having some quiet time when I heard someone inside asking someone else a question…

Have they taken the light?,” he shouted.

Even without hearing the reply, I immediately mourned for about 5 seconds. “Oooooooooh, so there has been light for a long time and I stayed here till they took it again? Chai!”

I almost blamed the seeming ill-luck on my village people🤣😭. But, mtch, I just managed to gather my philosophical mind to talk to myself.

Why are you expressing such poor judgement?,” I consoled myself. “Have you checked to be sure that they haven't brought the light just now?”.

I said all these things in my heart oh🤬 Before you start thinking another thing, hmmmm!

Then, I moved instinctly to "go and verify". As I came into the compound, I saw the guy and asked, “when did they bring the light?”, expecting him to say, “for more than 3 hours now” so that I'd confirm my suspicion🤣😭🤣😭

Fortunately, it turned out I was wrong.

Just now oh,” the guy replied to me, his excitement obvious. As if that wasn't enough, the guy began to run towards his flat🏃🏃‍♂️

Let me go and plug my gadgets and know if I can get even if it's one bar before they take the light again,” the guy's body language was saying as he ran.

So, I too joined him to run, lol!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ As we were running up the stairs together, I told the guy, “let's be running like this so that Tinubu will be ashamed”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Well, as I said at the beginning, it's not just President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but also all the presidents, governors, senators, members of the House of Reps, members of the state assemblies and everyone who has occupied a key political position in Nigeria since the Whiteman finally left us in 1963. All of them should be ashamed of themselves that until now, after more than 60 years of the colonial masters leaving us to fend for ourselves, we cannot boast of having electricity supply for a week without interruptions.

Now, in many places across Nigeria, people can hardly enjoy up to 24 hours of electricity every week (like where I live💢). Whether anyone agrees or not, this is a big SHAME.

But, That's Only A Part Of The Story: Here's The Root Of It

If we are blaming the ‘leaders’, what about ourselves and our ancestors whose stupidity is the fundamental reason why the system keeps throwing up mediocre ‘leaders’ from generation to generation?

For example, I've had series of experiences that prove that an overwhelming majority of Nigerians wouldn't support an initiative aimed at solving a major problem in the country. Yet, they'd be complaining about the situation. Such an arm chair critic syndrome that seems to only enjoy to complain about problems without wanting to lift even a finger🤞 to help in solving them!

It's one attitude that makes our leaders to think they are doing well when they are not. Already, they are surrounded by series of very selfish and unpatriotic sycophants (aides) singing their praise every moment to gain certain favors. Amid it all, we too fail to use opportunities available to us to get them to know the truth of our situation.

That's how most of us are helping to perpetuate mediocrity in our government while prolonging our own suffering.

Take this for instance: We made a finding that far more Nigerians were dying of hunger and hunger-related issues than are reported in the media. So, we called on government at all levels to declare a state of emergency on food security in Nigeria and set up soup kitchens across the country. Surprisingly, every attempt we made to get Nigerians on social media to support the call fell on deaf ears!

That was before the final presentation of the 2025 Federal Appropriation Bill that gave so little to supporting agricultural activities in the country in the coming year. Imagine that we used the opportunity of the #SoupkitchensinNigeria call to speak to Aso Rock before the bill was finally submitted to our rubber-stamp national assembly! Surely, hope would have been brighter for the coming year as regards food security.

Also, if we had got the government to set up the #soupkitchensinNigeria, I doubt if the series of food stampede deaths we witnessed over the last few days would have happened. No, because people wouldn't have been pushed to that level of desperation due to hunger.

But then, this is just one example to show how most of us help the system to keep on throwing up mediocres in the stead of leaders for us. Imagine a country where a state governor cannot read out what has been written for him! That's just a graphic sampling of the entire leadership of the country - which is the ONLY reason things are going so wrong here.

Very soon, every president and governor will make sure that he is succeeded by a proper imbecile so that he remains as the godfather of the state. As I wrote in a song once, “they care more about enslaving the people than developing the people”.

Ah, I de ves; I no fit lie. Well, I have much to say but, for now, let's talk about how to use social media to get our leadership so ashamed of the mess going on in the Nigerian electricity sector that they will have no option than to get up and work to change the ugly situation for good and to do so ASAP.

With how desperate our situation in Nigeria is, our political positions should be where people go to roll up their sleeves and really WORK, not where they go to seek and get shallow-hearted accolades from hungry citizens.

How To Join Me To Get Our 'Leaders' Ashamed Of The Poor Electricity Supply Across The Country?

This is a crazy idea no doubt. But, when situations get crazy, we too need to get crazy enough to neutralize it. It's simple science that "minus minus equals plus".

As one guy put it on social media once, “give werey to whom werey is due”😂

Some pro-government elements try to silence us when we say a thing like this by saying “stop demarketing your country”.

To such people I say, 👉YOU are rather the ones demarketing the country. See how: If you come from a family of cannibals where people are killed and eaten everyday, if no one in the family ever denounces cannibalism, you have succeeded in confirming the rumor around town that EVERYONE in your family is a cannibal. If you know, you know.

So, if you agree with me that the poor situation of electricity supply in Nigeria is truly a thing our so-called leaders down the years should be very ashamed of, please do this: Any time there's ‘Nepa light’ in your neighbourhood after a long time, just get a video of people rejoicing💃🕺🤾‍♀️about it. Share the video on social media with the hashtag, #ShameonNigerianleaderssince1960.

Let's get this to trend until it attracts a huge international attention to Nigeria. And let's not stop until the poor electricity supply stops.

Indeed, President Tinubu and the current 'leaders' are privileged to be the only ones among them who can try to escape from sharing in this shame - since they're still on the seats. But then, don't get me wrong here because, as a former state governor and senator, President Tinubu too is already a major partaker in this shame. He only has a rare opportunity to right his wrongs before he dies, an opportunity many of them have lost forever.

Do you support this initiative? If yes, share this article already with the hashtag #ShameonNigerianleaderssince1960(locate a ‘SHARE’ link at the foot of this article). It's only if Nigerians share this that it will be obvious that they actually agree that the state of electricity supply in the country is a reproach that deserves national mourning but especially emergency attention.

This one is not a street protest where you will be afraid of the (in)security agents shooting you down as usual. And you're not mentioning anybody's name, so you can't be afraid of any legal implications or of getting banned by your social media admin. Even if the oppressors decide to trace the origin of the trend, I will be the one they will find as I am not hidden from them. So, what is stopping you from supporting this initiative?

Or, do you disagree with it? If yes, that's okay too. But say why you disagree at the comment section below 👇. It's democracy after all.

Merry🎄 Christmas🎁 and a great 2025 to Nigerians home and abroad. Thanks🙏 for your attention.

NIGERIA: Possible Strategies President Tinubu Is Using To Pocket The Country As He Did Lagos

Image source: The Southern Examiner I visited Festac Town Lagos in 2006 when Tinubu held sway as the state governor. One thing I noticed without anyone telling me was this high austerity level in the air - which contrasted sharply with my experiences in a couple other parts of the country. When I asked, I was told that the 3D suffering levels were as a result of The Obasanjo Federal Government withholding the allocation due to the state. I couldn't understand it because I always knew Lagos as a mega state with such a humongous IGR that it could function beyond average even without any federal allocation. It took me over a decade before I realized what the man was actually doing then under the noses of millions of citizens. I remembered to revisit this issue because I see now a reenactment of what happened in Lagos in those days. The only difference I see is that then, it happened at a state level but now it is happening at the national level. Here are some of the strate...

How To Handle Your Haters: A Lesson From Bill Gates And His Daughter (2)

Bill and Phoebe Gates. Image credit: Business Insider Do you know what? I learned that, growing up, Bill Gates was too small for his age and was often bullied at school and on the streets. As a result, he had very few friends - no more than two per time. As related in the archives , young Bill was a recluse who spent hours cocooned in his room. Once, during such a social withdrawal, his mom asked after him over the intercom, and Bill shouted back, “ I'm thinking… Have you ever tried thinking? ” The fact is: Young Bill Gates didn't have many friends. Unknown to him, many of his peers snubbed him because a rumor spread around town that “ Bill is the weirdest guy that God ever made ”. As acknowledged by Washington Post's Mark Leibovich, the real issue was that the boy Bill Gates III was an infant prodigy. As a result, he just couldn't get along with most of his peers and vice versa. But, it hardly became an issue to him because his attention was essentially somewhere else....

Another Blow On Igbo-Yoruba Rivalry

Chauvinism is the big dent on Africa One day, some generations of Africans will remember that it was decades of unhealthy rivalry among their ancestors that made them lose their place in the committee of humans. Unfortunately, those "ancestors" will point back to you and me. This must happen unless today's generation of Africans take the bull by the horns and walk the uncommon road. For example, they must look each other in the face and decide to unite, form a common front and fight their common enemies. The Famous Igbo-Yoruba Rivalry As A Case In Point Recently, many Nigerians of goodwill genuinely mourned the passing of one of the few icons ever thrown up from the Nigerian political space. His name? Professor Humphrey Nwosu. Late Prof. Humphrey Nwosu. Image credit: USAfricaonline.com What makes Late Professor Humphrey Nwosu so iconic? It is the historical fact that he defied a military junta and insisted on letting basic democratic procedures be followed. So, he announc...

VDJ: A Relatively Easy Way To Make A New Year Resolution That Ends Up With A Fulfilling Year Right From The Start

I came to realize this: Many of those who say that new year resolutions don't work are only using a gaslighting tactic called "sour grapes". "Sour grapes"  is a phrase coined from Aesop's fable, where a fox decides that grapes are probably sour anyway, after failing to reach them. This idiom describes someone who disparages something they cannot have or achieve. In other cases, I found such statements thoroughly defeatist. Defeatism refers to a mindset where someone assumes that a task or goal is impossible to achieve, often due to their own lack of ability or experience. Otherwise, every new year eve provides an ample opportunity for every person or brand to look back at the dying year and take stock. The aim of such stock-taking is to embark on self-evaluation, review your achievements and mistakes for the year and forge a formidable new beginning, insisting that " the end of this new year must see me much more fulfilled than I am now ". When you...

Drucker was a renowned management consultant and author who is often credited with coining the term " knowledge economy ." He first discussed the concept in his 1969 book, The Age of Discontinuity: Guidelines to Our Changing Society . In the book, Drucker argued that the economy was shifting from a focus on manual labor and industrial production to one centered on knowledge, information, and expertise.  In his 2005 book  Thinking For A Living , Thomas H. Davenport revealed that Drucker already used the phrase " knowledge work...
