Why I Think That “Make America Great Again” Should Be Considered A Treasonous Statement: An Open Letter To Americans

Dear Americans,

My name is Desmond. Although I am not an American, I love America a lot.

I love your country especially for the stability you provide to the fabric of humanity. Without the democratic freedom you preach, practice, and protect, I wonder what our world would have been like.

Again, I wonder what would have become of us all in the face of increasing threats of global terrorism if there was no America as we have the country today.

Then comes the tech economy that is being championed from your soil. And, what about how you fight crimes across the world using improved technologies as I recognized in an article I published yesterday?

I could write my reasons on and on until they result in a book volume. If need be, I might do just that some time. For now, however, I have a different mission to accomplish…

As a result of my deep love for America, it irks my heart on a daily basis when I see certain Americans themselves saying/doing stuff that has very high chances of destroying my most beloved country on Earth.

These destructions are being worked subtly everyday unknown to many, even many Americans. Sometimes, you need a fresh pair of outsider eyes to see yourself more clearly.

For me, I think that fate has placed a role of this sort on my shoulders regarding the United States of America: I mean that my revelation here is meant to help you see yourselves and your path better to avoid falling into this ditch I see here in the free use of that sentence “make America great again”.

Think about that! The inevitable implication is that “America is no longer great and Americans know it”. As false as the message is, it gets across and enboldens America’s (that is our) detractors across the world.

Many of you may never understand the extent of damage this does to the august international image of the US until you interact one-on-one and for long with Arabized minds outside of your country.

To be sure, while the MAGA Movement has done a lot to further entrench this tendency, it didn't start with it. Instead, many years before the rise of MAGA, I was often pricked to see Americans taking their own country to the cleaners via social media use of language.

For instance, more than once, I have seen Americans agreeing that America exploits vulnerable economies via counterterrorism missions - like when the post-9/11 mission was being executed in Afghanistan.

I don't want to write too long a letter here lest I bore you. But, to help you in making sense of what I'm writing here, consider for example that dictators are often burdened with spoilt-kid mindsets that make them perennially seek validation for their dictatorial decisions and structures.

Now, imagine the kind of reception such a message that America is being exploitative via counterterrorism efforts gets in the camps of such dictators: It makes them find easy justification for their nefarious crimes against humanity.

I hope I made some sense to you. It's possible that my brand of English doesn't measure up with what you use out there. But, just try to make my message make sense to you.

If you have any question or observation, kindly feel free to air it at the comment section. I will respond to each comment when need be, and as much as I can without disfiguring my normal schedule. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Desmond Chinedu Nweke

Contradictory Statements Indicate That The Police May Have Lied Against Bristol Isaac

News reports of the arrest of Bristol Isaac by the Punch Newspapers has the accused doing two opposite things: A police spokesperson says Bristol " locked himself in the hotel room, smashed his phone, and flushed it down the toilet to destroy evidence. He also refused to surrender his phone's password, claiming he had forgotten it, thereby concealing information ". Our question is, if Bristol Isaac already smashed his phone and flushed it down the toilet to destroy evidence, WHICH PHONE'S PASSWORD DID HE REFUSE TO SURRENDER, CLAIMING HE HAD FORGOTTEN IT? Does a smashed phone flushed down the toilet still have passwords? We expect the police and their supporters to defend this possibly by saying that Bristol had more than one phone. If so, we ask: " What would make a person trying to destroy evidence to destroy one evidence-bearing device and leave another?" For us, this seems indefensible but we are open to any contrary opinion if anyone has a

A New Hacking Attempt Targets WhatsApp Users: How To Be Safe

A member of our team got this flash notification from WhatsApp recently... Clicking on ' Learn more ', this page opened: Apart from listening to the directive given above by the WhatsApp Admin, another way to stay safe is not to let ANYONE ELSE have access to your gadgets because you never can tell who is targeting you. The surest way to prevent unauthorised access to your gadgets is to create a lock🔒 for them and ensure that your passwords are not easy to guess. Also, if anyone you don't know gives you an unsolicited job offer or any offer at all, don't reply or respond to them. For example, don't click on any link they sent you. If you wait for sometime but they still haven't identified themselves clearly, you block and report them. #HarassOmokri2Pay: A Campaign Against Misinformation By Influencers

Someone may have burst the bubble of former Presidential aide Reno Omokri.  Image credit: Wikidata Reno is aware that most Nigerians might be averse to a research culture. So, he often freely gives a challenge that says, " fact-check me". My study of a series of Omokri's "fact-check me" tweets reveals that they are used to influence public opinion unfairly. So, recently, he gave such a challenge which appears to cast a past Nigerian Presidential administration in a bad light as a means of making the current administration look better than it deserves. In that tweet, Omokri was selling the Tinubu Administration using its air safety profile. To achieve that, Omokri, inter alia, claimed that Nigeria was averaging 5 Plane crashes per year some time during the Obasanjo days. As usual, Omokri said " fact-check me " and promised the sum of $10,000 to anyone who could fault his stats. I did the fact-check, faulted Omokri, and informed h
