Single Mom Celebrates As Son Becomes A Soldier

Someone shared this story on Facebook recently with this photo:
"I had my son at 16, raised him as a single mom, he just graduated from the army, I'm most excited.

"I remember the day my world shattered. The father of my child rejected our pregnancy and abandoned me, i was just 16. I was left alone, scared, & unsure of what to do.

"But I knew I had to be strong for my baby boy. I worked hard, sacrificed everything, & raised him on my own. There were times when we had nothing, but I never gave up.

"Today, I'm overwhelmed with pride & joy. My son is graduating from the army! He's grown into a strong, kind, & brave young man. I'm happy that I kept my baby ..

"I want to tell all single mothers out there: don't give up, even when things seem impossible. Your children will make you proud, & your sacrifices will be worth it.

LESSONS:

  1. Don't abort your baby no matter the difficulty you expect from raising it. Imagine if this lady had aborted this now big boy!
  2. Men should shun this wicked act of impregnating under-age girls, not to talk about abandoning her with the pregnancy. It's great wickedness. And the memory is likely to come back to haunt you. Governments should make more stringent laws against the sexual abuse of our under-age daughters.
  3. Indeed, abandoning any woman at all with a load of pregnancy should attract serious penalties from the authorities.

Someone may have burst the bubble of former Presidential aide Reno Omokri.  Image credit: Wikidata Reno is aware that most Nigerians might be averse to a research culture. So, he often freely gives a challenge that says, " fact-check me". My study of a series of Omokri's "fact-check me" tweets reveals that they are used to influence public opinion unfairly. So, recently, he gave such a challenge which appears to cast a past Nigerian Presidential administration in a bad light as a means of making the current administration look better than it deserves.
